You only cancel your old number if

1. You are not porting it
(you are getting a new number from Talkit)

2. Your number has been ported over to Talkit and your ported number is working on the Talkit.ca service.

* NOTE: Do not cancel your number if you are porting
(keeping your number)

* You would only cancel with your provider that you are porting from once your number has been ported over to Talkit.ca and the number is working with your Talkit.ca service
