What do I do if My Talkit service is not working and I have the 502 device?

Ensure it is connected properly and setup properly.

Modem/Router Talkit

1. Unplug the power to the modem/router

2. Plug port 1 into the WAN port on the Talkit device

3. Plug your phone into phone 1 on the Talkit device

4. Turn the power of the modem on and wait (2 minutes)

5. Turn the power of the Talkit on by plugging in the power adapter for the Talkit device

6. Turn on the QOS on the port the Talkit device is connected to (port 1)

- if your router doesn’t support QOS you may encounter issues with the Talkit service

- for help to turn on your router’s QOS consult your router manufacturer

7. Open the correct ports on your router

Troubleshooting

T1 -Make sure the Talkit device is activated through the Talkit web site

T2- Make sure the right ports are open for your router brand

T3- Make sure QOS is enabled properly

T4- Make sure there is no conflict with your router’s firewall

- consult your router’s manufacturer for help with this.

Modem Talkit Router

1. Unplug the power to the modem and router

2. Plug the internet port on the modem into the WAN port on the Talkit

3. Plug LAN port on Talkit into your computer internet port

4. Plug phone into phone1 on the Talkit

5. Turn on power to modem (wait 2 minutes)

6. Turn on power to Talkit (wait 10 minutes)

7. Turn on the power to the router

8. Log into your Talkit device and enter in the PPPoE
information of your DSL provider

Steps:
a. log into your Talkit device by turning on your computer (connected to the Talkit) open an internet browser, ie (moxzilla firefox or google chrome)

b. in the address bar at the top of the browser; erase what is in there (it usually starts with www. or http

c. enter in the ip address of the Talkit 192.168.2.1 and hit enter

d. this will bring you to the Grandstream login, enter the password admin and hit enter on your keyboard

e. click on basic settings

f. this is where you will enter your PPPoE internet username and password

g. scroll to the bottom and hit update and then reboot

9. Wait 10 minutes and then try logging back into the device if you can’t get in with the admin password then everything is done correctly and you can proceed

10. Disconnect the internet port from your computer and it into an unused port in your router.

- Lan of the Talkit device is going into the internet port of the router

Troubleshooting

T1- My Talkit works but I am no longer getting internet to my computers

T2- My Talkit device is not working

- make sure you activated your Talkit device on the Talkit web site

- Verify your PPPoE internet username and password is correct with your internet provider
